I created this site to help my students succeed. In it you will find copies of the syllabus and term paper assignment (in case you misplace the copies I gave you in class), handouts, links to primary sources that I referenced in my lectures, as well as links to Amazon for those of you who want to buy your books online (look under the “Books” tab to find these links) .  You will also find practice quizzes that are designed to help students prepare for the multiple choice portion of the in class exams. Each quiz covers a single chapter of the textbook – they do not cover the material from my in-class lectures. The answers can be found in the textbook. Finally, I suggest you check in regularly to read the “News & Announcements.”

Thompson is a Professor of US History at Montgomery College in Germantown, Maryland.  He holds a BA in history from East Stroudsburg University (1983), an MA in history from Kent State University (1986) and a PhD in history from the University of Florida (1995).  He has been teaching at Montgomery College since 2000
